About her abilities...
Thanks to her ring, PM is absurdly powerful in canon. If you can get her without her ring, then she's essentially only a normal person with normal combat prowess, but she essentially never takes it off. In Demeleier, the ring's power has been power nerfed to non-game breaking levels, but I'm always careful to check in or err on the side of caution. I avoid putting her into situations where her remaining levels of godliness would be unfair or impede the fun of others.
I'm definitely not against having her get hurt or lose fights if your character is an appropriate match, but she is one tough cookie! She is still extremely hard to injure conventionally—in video game terms, she has a final boss' HP pool; in more DWRP terms, the ring toughens her exoskeleton to a point where it's remarkably strong. Not only that, but she possesses a keen sense of smell and hearing, has shounen anime-esque fighting instincts, can teleport short spans, and is able to summon her sword if disarmed.
Xenobiology, or: Carapacians 101
PM is a carapacian, which are cloned and engineered exoskeletal aliens that are modeled after chess pieces. They are native to the gaming sessions central to Homestuck. Within the two "races" of white (Prospitians) and black (Dersites) carapacians, there are castes that correspond to every chess piece, though most are only used as soldiers. PM belongs to the off-shoot class of pawns called "agents," who tend toward domestic and administrative duties. Formally, PM was a mail carrier.
Agents and pawns look about the same: rounded head, simple tube-like torso, and claws or stubby fingers. However, there's a huge amount of variation in body shape and size, meaning that an adult carapacian could be extremely tiny and squat or enormous and bulky. There is some sexual dimorphism, mostly for the benefit of the "players" of the game they populate but not all female carapacians have breast-like mounds or hip curves. Not every female carapacian has these, though.
A particular ability of some castes of carapacians is that they are coded to change shape according to the choices in spirit guides made by the "players" of their particular gaming session. The most potent transformation is achieved using an artifact known as "The Queen's Ring." There are two, one belonging to the Queen of Derse and one to the Queen of Prospit. This is what gives PM her strange, almost cobbled-together form. It is comprised of a jester, a cat with tentacles, a crow with a sword sticking out of it, and an all-powerful pet dog.
PM is extremely tube-shaped in general, only having the slightest hints of physical sexual dimorphism (though her voice is recognizably feminine). She's tall for a carapacian, standing at 5'5", and is lanky. Her head, when not wearing the ring, is almost perfectly round. She has stubby claws on her hands.
